From airport “field trips” to simulations and even cockpit training, the aviation program at Lynn is all hands-on, all the time. In this program, you'll focus on the core structure of the vast aviation industry and learn the operations. You’ll become familiar with the finances, scheduling and regulations that affect the decision-making process for an aeronautics professional. Plus, you'll have the time and opportunity to earn pilot licenses and ratings.

Aviation curriculum

The Burton D. Morgan College of Aeronautics is a world-class aviation academy with a state-of-the-art training facility designed to help fulfill the educational needs of the vast, dynamic, global aviation profession. The college offers a variety of programs designed to provide students with the education and training needed to successfully enter the aviation profession. The Aviation Associate of Arts is a two-year degree program designed to provide a basic liberal arts core of knowledge and a wide range of educational and experiential opportunities for students to begin a career as a qualified, licensed professional pilot.

AVF 230 Commercial Flight Theory 
Get the required flight theory and prepares the student for the FAA written and oral tests for the commercial pilot certificate.

AVS 102 Aviation History 
A survey of the entire spectrum of aviation—its evolution from balloons to supersonic transports and space travel, its contemporary situation and problems, as well as its potential.

AVS 347 Aviation Operations 
An analysis of the application of contemporary operations techniques of the three pillars of the aviation industry: airlines, airports and fixed base operations. Included are operations functions, current issues, domestic and foreign operations, domestic and foreign regulations, aircraft selection, labor relations, airport master plans and strategic planning. The course will include a major student project.

Graduates must complete a total of 120 credits.
