Commercial pilot curriculum

Students in this certificate program must complete the 4 credit hours of these two courses:

AVM 230 Commercial Flight Theory: This will prepare you for both the written and oral FAA exams for your Commercial Pilot Certificate. 

AVM 231 Commercial Flight Training: Complete the required flight to be eligible for the certificate. 

Prerequisites:

In addition, requirements for the commercial pilot certificate include:

  • Obtaining a visa if you are an international student
  • Passing a medical exam
  • Being at least 17 years old when you complete the certification

Commercial pilot career opportunities

Becoming a professional airline pilot with this professional-level certification will make you a more accomplished airplane pilot. Alumni of the Burton D. Morgan College of Aeronautics have used their new ratings and certificates to gain employment with nationally known companies including: 

  • Spirit Airlines

  • Atlanta Hartsfield airport authority
