Instrument pilot rating curriculum

Students in this certification program must complete six credit hours. The program course includes:

  • AVM 220 Instrument Flight Theory and Training, Basic
  • AVM 221 Instrument Flight Theory and Training, Advanced

Prerequisites for the flight instructor course include:

In addition, requirements for the instrument pilot rating certificate include:

  • Obtaining a visa if you are an international student
  • Passing a medical exam
  • Being at least 17 years old when you complete the certification
