College of Business and Management presents 15th annual Spring Fashion Show

Students showcase an internationally inspired fashion parade

Fashion and retail students coordinated and starred in the 2018 show.

Lynn University College of Business and Management’s fashion and retail students went bigger than ever in the 15th annual Spring Fashion Show. Titled “A Knight at the Carnaval,” the show took place on Saturday, May 5, in the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center.

The show featured styles from each continent, with every scene expressing different cultures and flavors. In addition to apparel curated by retailers, 13 apparel product development students showed creativity and innovation by debuting their creations on the runway.

“The 32 students who organized the show are also in the once-yearly fashion show production class, which features ensembles that break cultural barriers,” said Lisa Dandeo, associate professor and coordinator of the Fashion and Retail program at Lynn. “A runway show of this size requires a lot more than regular class time. To see the participants add to their course load and volunteer their time is a real testament as to who they are as leaders, as well as students.”

Dandeo’s students also have helped produce local fashion events for A Key to the Cure, the American Heart Association, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, Miami Swim Week, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, the Susan G. Komen Cancer Research Foundation, and the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.

The students routinely travel to cities such as New York and Las Vegas to volunteer at fashion weeks and gain experience for their own spring production.
